South Georgia Peanuts News Release
(Albany, GA) - The South Georgia Peanuts presented by Security Bank announced today the beginning of a scavenger hunt hosted by the team's big blue mascot, ‘Goober.' Goober will be making his way around Albany and the surrounding areas over the next two months as he and the team get ready for the Peanuts home opener May 22nd, against in-state rivals the Macon Music.
Fans are encouraged to follow Goober's path around the area and in turn fans could receive free tickets to Peanuts games this season. Starting this Wednesday, March 12, 2008, fans can come down to Paul Eames Sports Complex and pick up their official Goober Scavenger Hunt tour guide.
The guide will include a punch ticket that fans can use at every spot Goober stops. If fans get 10 punches on their ticket, they will win a 10 - pack of General Admission tickets for the upcoming season. Information regarding the schedule of Goober's fan stops will be released weekly.
