Fireworks Fridays, Hillbilly Weekend highlights in Florence Freedom 2008 Promotional Schedule

FLORENCE, KY - The Florence Freedom have unveiled their promotional schedule for the 2008 season. Fan favorite nights like Thirsty Thursday and Fireworks Friday make a return to the schedule for 2008, along with new promotions throughout the season like the Hillbilly weekend, '80s night and Liberty's Birthday Party.

"Fans are going to see a lot of new additions to our promotional show for 2008," mentioned Freedom General Manager Kari Rumfield, "our dedication is to establish ourselves as a good community partner while providing a high level of affordable family friendly entertainment to Northern Kentucky and the Cincinnati area."

Freedom fans won't want to miss a night at Champion Window Field with the recurring promotional themes again this season.

Family Fun Sundays are for the kids with Liberty's Freedom Fighter Kids Club. Kids Club members can run the bases after the game and get autographs from the Florence Freedom players. More information on the Kids Club is available at www.florencefreedom.com.

Fans will want to bring their appetites for Monday Madness, an all-you-can-eat ticket allows fans to enjoy the baseball game while sampling food from various restaurants in the area. Mondays will also feature $1.00 hot dogs, popcorn, and 12oz soda.

The Bank of Kentucky returns on Tuesdays with "Caught up in a Cause". A different charity will benefit from each Tuesday game this season. Fans can look forward to "Pink at the Park" and a "Salute to our Troops" night on selected Tuesdays this season. Before each Tuesday game fans can donate $5.00 to the selected charity that night to then head down to the field to play catch before the game begins and also receive a special "Catch for a Cause" baseball. Florence Freedom players will also be wearing special jerseys to be auctioned off with part of the proceeds also going to that night's charity.

Opening Day 2008 is Wednesday, May 21st and is "Education Day". Schools can bring their students out to the early game beginning at 11:05am as a great finish to the school year. Wednesday night games kids will also "Wrapped Up in Reading" with Liberty's Bookworms Reading Club members. Kids participating in the program will have the opportunity to earn up to seven free vouchers to come out to a Wednesday night baseball game. Wednesday, July 9th is "Milk and Cookies" Day and is the only other day game of the season with a start time of 11:05am.

Thirsty Thursday returns for a third season on Opening Night May 22nd. The fan favorite night will again featuring $1.00 beverages but also have the new additions of Karaoke on the concourse and themed foods including Mexican, Italian, and Greek food on different Thursday nights.

Spectacular fireworks shows return on Fridays for 2008. After every Friday home game fans can stay for a 10 minute fireworks extravaganza to kick off the weekend.

Champion Window Super Saturdays will again feature different post game concerts throughout the summer from different genres of music. From rock and roll to disco, fans won't want to miss the special musical theme every Saturday night this summer.

In addition to the recurring themes, fans can also look forward to Superhero Night, a Toga Party, a Mr & Miss Freedom Pageant and even a Hillbilly Weekend. Hillbilly Weekend is June 6th-8th and features Country Music, a greased pig catching contest, and the ever popular "Cow Patty Bingo".

The Freedom are also planning for several give-aways this season, more information on give-aways will be available soon on www.florencefreedom.com.

Florence Freedom is a member of the Frontier League, a 12-team Independent Professional Baseball League established in 1993. The Freedom play a 96 game schedule with 51 home games between late May and early September.
