Sand Gnats set date for Second Annual Chili Bowl Cook-Off

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Sand Gnats have scheduled the second annual Sand Gnats Chili Bowl Cook-Off for Saturday, Nov. 17 from noon until 5 p.m. at Historic Grayson Stadium. The event will feature chili cooked by participants from around the area. Admission is $5 in advance and $7 at the gate.
A portion of proceeds from the event will benefit America's Second Harvest Food Bank of Coastal Georgia. The Blood Alliance Blood Mobile will be at the stadium from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.
The Sand Gnats will award a cash prize of $500 to the best judged chili recipe and $250 for second place. Trophies will be awarded for the people's choice and best decorated booth. Those wishing to enter their recipes into the competition can download a registration form from www.sandgnats.com or e-mail Lauren Povia at laurenp@sandgnats.com for more information. Registration for chili cookers is $50.
