SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The National Lacrosse League (NLL) announced today that Minnesota Swarm General Manager Marty O'Neill has won the NLL's General Manager of the Year Award.

"We are proud of the team's development and Marty's role in our improvement over the last three seasons," said Executive Vice President Matt Majka. "His continued hard work since being hired has positioned the Swarm well for future success."

O'Neill, 42 (6/6/64), helped guide the Swarm to its second straight playoff appearance in 2007 finishing in third place in the East Division with a franchise best 9-7 record before being defeated by the Buffalo Bandits in the East Division Semifinals. Minnesota has improved its record all three seasons in the NLL. The Swarm posted a 5-11 record in its 2005 expansion season. In 2006, Minnesota went 8-8 and finished in fourth place in the East Division advancing to the playoffs for first the first time in franchise history, losing at Buffalo 11-10 in the East Division Semifinals.
