ST. PAUL, Minn. - Nenad Gajic scored twice to initiate a four-goal run that rallied the Colorado Mammoth to an 11-9 victory over the Minnesota Swarm on Saturday night. Less than 24 hours after faltering at home, the Mammoth went on the road and dominated the second half to overtake the Swarm in front of 10,114 fans at the Xcel Energy Center.
Gajic's second goal, just 11 seconds in to the fourth quarter, tied the game at 8-8, before goals by Brian Langtry and Gavin Prout sealed the victory. Prout led the Mammoth with four goals and six points, while forward Dan Carey registered a team-high four assists.
Goaltender Chris Levis, who took the loss on Friday night in relief of starter Gee Nash, made 39 saves on 48 shots to improve to 3-3 on the season and keep the Mammoth from losing its third consecutive game.
Dean Hill led the Swarm with four goals while Spencer Martin tallied six points on two goals and four assists. Nick Patterson took the loss in goal after making 31 saves.
"I was very happy with the way we finished this game," Mammoth coach Gary Gait said. "After playing poorly on Friday night, it was great to see us pull together in the second half tonight and get a win."
Colorado (11-3) remains in first place of the National Lacrosse League's West Division with only a home-and-home series against the San Jose Stealth on April 11-12 remaining on the regular-season schedule. Minnesota (6-6) is alone in third place in the East Division.
