This Week in the UIF
March 21, 2007 - United Indoor Football Association (UIF) News Release
It's game week! The season is finally here. UIF teams begin their march toward United Bowl III this weekend. The Colorado Ice host the Billings Outlaws Friday night at the Budweiser Events Center near Loveland. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Mountain Time. Colorado got a jump on hitting against players other than their own teammates when they hosted a charity exhibition game last week. They beat the semi-pro Denver Titans 53-21. A good crowd was on hand and it proved to be a delight. Several reviews were written about the game including a piece from the Coloradoan. In the Greeley Tribune, Ice Head Coach Collins Sanders was quoted: "The thing that nobody realized is the full production wasn't even going yet," Sanders said. "It is going to be more electric."
The RiverCity Rage also played an exhibition game last weekend. They defeated the semi-pro Northeast Missouri Wildats 51-9 at Family Arena in St. Charles, MO. Rage General Manager Matt Jones is a guest on This Week in the UIF which is now available on-line. Click here to go directly to this week's show or go to the UIF EZStream page for a list of all available UIF webcasts. Don't forget that This Week in the UIF is also available from Our Sports Central. The show also includes a conversation with Billings Assistant G.M. and radio play-by-play voice, Bill Callahan. Dean Jackson brings us the first Two Minute Drill of the season as well as a chat with Omaha Beef G.M. Dustin Talacko.
