Veteran equipment manager joins Killer Bees

Hidalgo, Texas --- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the Central Hockey League (CHL) today announced the hiring of Doug Tretiak as the team's new equipment manager. Tretiak most recently worked for the Austin Ice Bats (2005-06) and brings eight years of experience as a head equipment manager to the club.

A Winnipeg, Manitoba, native, Tretiak's hockey career began in 1987 as a visiting team attendant for the Winnipeg Jets (NHL). He became the head equipment manager for the Hamilton Canucks (AHL) for the 1992-93 season, then went back to the Jets in 1993-94 in his previous role. From there, he served as equipment manager for the Las Vegas Thunder (IHL) from 1994-98, the Central Texas Stampede (WPHL) in 1998-99 and the Cleveland Lumberjacks (IHL) in 2000-01.

"Doug is an experienced guy who knows the ins and outs of the job," said Killer Bees Head Coach Paul Fixter. "I'm happy to have him on board knowing that our players will get the best possible attention from our off-ice staff."
