Renegades announce ticket prices

April 25, 2006 - SPHL (SPHL)
Richmond Renegades News Release

Allan B. Harvie, Jr., President and General Manager of the Richmond Renegades, today announced ticket prices for the 2006-2007 hockey season. Special pricing for kids 10 and under, a new and unique Directors chair section and an alcohol free Family Section were highlights of the announcement. Special discounted parking and a "season ticket holder entrance" were also announced. The Renegades will play 56 games with the majority of the 28 home games being played on Friday and Saturday nights. Harvie said he expected the SPHL schedule to be out around late June. The SPHL begins play the final weekend in October 2006.

"We are doing something that has not been done before in Richmond hockey history", Harvie explained. "We have gone almost to a one price admission except for two special areas; one of which was never available until now. Beginning this year we are introducing our "Director's Seating", an extremely successful concept that I saw at Huntsville. But we are taking it one step further."

"Along each end of the ice rink we will be placing heavy duty, attractive Director chairs. There will be approximately 40 at our home end and 35 at the Zamboni end. These seats will move right up to the glass and present the fan with a unique view of the game. But here is the highlight. These seats will be available for season ticket purchase only because the backs will be embroidered with the Renegades' logo and the season ticket holders' name. And at the end of the season, the chair becomes the property of the season ticket holder and they will take the Director chair home with them," Harvie exclaimed. He noted that the season ticket price of the Director chairs is only slightly higher than the Club seating.

There will be a Family Section where alcohol will not be permitted. "There are fans who want to come to games and not be around other fans who drink", stated Harvie. "By having this section we can provide that alcohol free environment. Also in keeping with the desire to increase family attendance, we are starting a special price for children 10 and under. We are sincerely hoping that the fan base will take advantage of this price to introduce youngsters to this fantastic sport". Harvie explained that he and the Coliseum staff will watch the use of the children's tickets to be sure the ticket will not be abused by anyone older than 10. This ticket will not be available for season ticket purchase.

"If we find people abusing this pricing we will need to review it at that time. I don't feel this will be necessary as I have tremendous faith in our fan base", Harvie noted. He also indicated that the children's tickets could only be purchased in person from the Renegades office and not at the Coliseum box office and must be purchased prior to 4 pm on game days. The tickets will be noticeably different which will alert the Coliseum staff that the holder needs to be a child 10 years of age or younger.

Season ticket holders will be able to purchase a deeply discounted parking pass to the Coliseum parking lot located on the far side of the parking deck on 8th Street. On game nights there will be a special entrance open only to season ticket holders, which will permit them quicker entrance into the Coliseum and a place to pick up that nights' giveaway and game insert.

Highlights of season ticket benefits include: - Reserved seat for all 28 home games plus first rights on playoff tickets.

- Free copy of The Renegade, the official team program.

- Free game day insert.

- Guaranteed to receive nightly giveaways if picked up by the start of 2nd period.

- Entrance to the Coliseum Club.

- Private "Skate Party" with the players.

- Special "Meet the Players" party.

- Deeply discounted parking pass.

- Unused tickets can be used at future Renegades games in the same season.

- Your own personal season ticket manager.

- Special "Season Ticket Holder" only prizes throughout the season.

- Chance for "Dinner with Allan & Coach Brophy" monthly drawing.

Also announced today was that the Coliseum Club will be open during the game to all season ticket holders, "A" (glass) level ticket holders and Club seat ticket holders. Further, the player "Meet and Greet" following the game will be held in the Coliseum Club and will be open to all fans.
