Gary Steelheads News Release

GARY, Indiana (January 28, 2006) - Prior to this evening's game between the Sioux Falls Skyforce and the Gary Steelheads at the Genesis Center, Gary acquired forward Renaldo Major from the Skyforce in exchange for a fourth round draft pick in the year 2007. The acquisition is contingent on CBA approval.

Last year, Major played his rookie season with the Steelheads and made a solid contribution. He was honored as the Slam Dunk Champion at the 2005 CBA All Star Game, held at the Genesis Center.

To date this season, Major has averaged 12.0 ppg. for the Skyforce, while contributing 4.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 0.8 blocked shots. He is currently shooting .529 from the field and .761 from the foul line. Major played his college basketball at Fresno State University.

To make room for Major, the Steelheads released Ryan Edwards. Major will wear uniform #20. The Skyforce roster, temporarily at 11 players with the return of Stephen Graham, reduces their roster to the league maximum of 10.
