
Latin Pop Singer Sabrina Joins MLS Cup 2005 Festivities

NEW YORK (Tuesday, November 8, 2005) - Major League Soccer announced today that Latin pop singer Sabrina will sing the national anthem prior to MLS Cup 2005, the League's tenth championship final. Sabrina will also perform her latest single, "Págame lo que me debes" (Pay me what you owe me) during the halftime show sponsored by RadioShack. MLS Cup 2005 will be played on Sunday, November 13 at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas and will be televised live on ABC Sports at 3:30 p.m. ET.
Beginning her singing career after several years as a model, Sabrina has already achieved great success. The young singer performed "God Bless America" at the 2004 World Series in front of 60,000 spectators and recently performed during the FIFA World Cup Qualifying match between Guatemala and the United States. Furthermore, the 21-year-old has performed at events such as the Fox Sports Premios and has shared the stage with Latin music icons Juan Luis Guerra and Franco de Vita.
Sabrina will release her debut self-titled album in February 2006 but has already scored a number one song in her native Guatemala with "Cuidado Amor." Her latest single, "Pagame lo que me debes", which she will perform at MLS Cup, has already begun to grab attention throughout Central America, Colombia and Venezuela.
In regards to performing at MLS Cup 2005, Sabrina commented, "I am really honored to have been chosen to sing the national anthem. Besides, I am a huge soccer fan."
Sabrina will share the RadioShack sponsored festivities with "The Click Five." The Lava/Atlantic Recording artists will perform their hit single, "Just the Girl" and their latest single "Catch Your Wave."
The final of American soccer, MLS Cup 2005, is the culmination of the Major League Soccer season. This year, the game features the league's two conference winners: New England Revolution and the Los Angeles Galaxy as they battle it out to win the Alan I. Rothenberg Trophy.
