Riversharks outlast Nashua Pride 19-13

(Nashua, NH) The Camden Riversharks erased a 4-0 deficit with a 10-run fourth inning and then outlasted the Nashua Pride, 19-13, Monday night at Historic Holman Stadium.

Camden's Dwight Maness capped the 13-batter rally with a two-run homer, his 20th. The Riversharks added four in the fifth to make it 14-4, two on Maness' second two-run homer of the evening. Victor Gutierrez also knocked in four runs for Camden.

Nashua (25-26, 68-53) made a game of it by sending 12 men to the plate and scoring seven runs in the fifth inning, three on Jimmy Hurst's 21st homer of the season.

With the Camden lead down to 14-11, the Riversharks (35-17, 74-48) responded with three in the sixth, one in the eighth, and one in the ninth and then held on.

Pride captain Glenn Murray hit his 24th home run in the second inning to give the Pride the early advantage but starter Brian Looney (5-8) and the Nashua bullpen couldn't keep the ‘Sharks at bay.

Nashua shortstop Orlando Miller had four hits and four RBI in a losing cause.

Camden's Chris Fussell, the second of three Riversharks pitchers, earned the win in his first decision of the season. Fussell took over from starter Ben Simon who failed to get out of the fifth inning.

The Pride and the Riversharks will resume their three-game series Tuesday night in Nashua. First pitch is set for 6:35 PM.
