(PHILADELPHIA, PA - June 3, 2005) - Hockey fans across the Greater Philadelphia Region are encouraged to rally at Chickie's & Pete's in South Philadelphia (16th and Packer Avenues) for a free, open-to-the-public Philadelphia Phantoms Playoff Pep Rally on Tuesday, June 7 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. as the Phantoms prepare to battle the Chicago Wolves in the Calder Cup Finals.

"With the Phantoms competing in the Calder Cup Finals and Championship stakes on the line, what better way for Philadelphia hockey fans to get together and get fired up for the games than to attend our free pep rally at Chickie's & Pete's," said Phantoms Chief Operating Officer Frank Miceli. "This is a very exciting time for Philadelphia as we're close to winning a championship."

The Phantoms Playoff Pep Rally will feature appearances by Phantoms Head Coach John Stevens and Assistant Coaches Kjell Samuelsson and Craig Berube, both former Philadelphia Flyers players. Flyers and Phantoms broadcaster Steve Coates will serve as master of ceremonies for the pep rally, while the Phantom Patrol and Phlex distribute Cheer Cards upon arrival. Chickie's & Pete's will offer a special discount to Phantoms fans wearing Phantoms jerseys, t-shirts and hats.

Philadelphia Flyers and Phantoms General Manager Bob Clarke, Assistant General Manager Paul Holmgren, Flyers Ambassador of Hockey Bob Kelly and Flyers Alum Joe Watson will attend and other hockey-related guests are expected to join the rally.

The Phantoms, the Flyers' American Hockey League affiliate, and the Wolves, the AHL affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers, are battling for the coveted Calder Cup Championship in a best-of-seven series, which continues with Games Three and Four on Wednesday, June 8 and Friday, June 10, both at the Wachovia Center. If necessary, Game Five will also be in Philadelphia on Saturday, June 11, while Games Six and Seven will be played in Chicago on Monday, June 13 and Wednesday, June 15.

The Phantoms' line-up features the Future Stars of the Flyers, including top goaltending prospect Antero Niittymaki, young Flyers defensemen Joni Pitkanen and Dennis Seidenberg, 2003 first-round draft picks Jeff Carter and Mike Richards, and Northeast Philadelphia's very own Tony Voce. The Phantoms, who are attempting to capture their second Calder Cup Championship in team history, won an AHL-record 17 straight games earlier in the season and remained one of the league's elite teams throughout the year.

Individual tickets for the Calder Cup Finals are on sale now. Walk-up prices for individual Phantoms playoff games are $16, $20 and $21 for adults, and $10 for all children 14 and under. However, fans ordering tickets in advance can save $1 per ticket off the walk-up price.
