SPHL Announces 2004-2005 All Star Team

[Asheville, NC] – The Southern Professional Hockey League announced today the six members of the 2004-2005 All Star Team, as determined through balloting of each SPHL Head Coach, General Manager, and members of the media.
The CommissionerÂ’s Cup regular season champion, Knoxville Ice Bears placed three members on the SPHL Dream Team.
Selected as 2004-2005 All Star forwards are KnoxvilleÂ’s dynamic duo of league scoring champion Kevin Swider (106 pts), and linemate and league goal scoring leader (44 goals) K.J. Voorhees. Rounding out the forward line is 30 goal man, Brent Rumble of the Jacksonville Barracudas.
KnoxvilleÂ’s Curtis Menzul and Columbus CottonmouthsÂ’ Ryan Aikia were selected as the All Star defensemen. Aikia was the SPHLÂ’s top scoring defender on the strength of four goals and 40 assists. Menzul finished second in blueliner production with seven goals and 28 assists for 35 points.
Rounding out the All Star squad, in thr SPHLÂ’s inaugural season is Fayetteville FireAntz goaltender Chad Collins. Collins led the SPHL in save percentage (.922), goals against average (2.48) and shutouts (4).
