Scorpions 16, Desert Dogs 7
Five different Scottsdale Scorpions had at least three hits on their way to a 16-7 win over the Phoenix Desert Dogs. Royce Huffman (HOU) was 5-for-5 with a home run, Brian Peterson (CIN) was 4-for-5 and Rickie Weeks (MIL) was 3-for-5 with a home run for the Scorpions, who had 22 hits as a team.
With the game tied at one in the second inning, Weeks hit a three-run shot to left field to give Scottsdale a 4-1 lead. It was one of three home runs for the Scorpions on the day. Weeks would add two more RBIs on a bases loaded single in the bottom of the fifth scoring two of Scottsdale's three runs in the inning. Although it was only the fifth inning, Scottsdale's eight-run lead would prove to be insurmountable.
Phoenix scored four runs in the top of the ninth. Jason Perry (OAK) had a home run for the Desert Dogs in their third loss of the season.

Solar Sox 6, Rafters 2
In a game that utilized the Solar Sox speed, Mesa beat Grand Canyon 6-4 at Hohokam Park. Tampa Bay prospect Joey Gathright stole four bases bringing him to a league leading eight for the season. Gathright finished the day 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored.
The Solar Sox started off early scoring two runs in the bottom of the first, they would hold the Rafters scoreless until the fifth when Kevin Thompson (NYY) hit a shot over the 390 mark in left center driving in two runs to tie the game.
Mesa would rally in the bottom of the fifth when Delmon Young (TB) hit a single down the first baseline to score Gathright and Jayson Nix (COL) to give the Solar Sox a 4-2 edge. They capped off the win with a two out rally in the eighth when Cubs' prospect Jake Fox hit a single into the gap in left center field scoring Casey Rogowski (CWS). Ronnie Cedeno (CHC) ended the drive when he reached on an error, scoring Fox.
Starting pitcher Adam Wainwright (STL) pitched four scoreless innings for Mesa.
Wainwright allowed only two hits, one walk and struck out five.

The Javelinas out dueled the Saguaros 16-13 in a slugfest at Peoria Sports Complex, the game came with a combined six home runs and 26 hits.
The Saguaros stuck first, with a four run opening inning that saw J.R. House (PIT) send one over the wall for two RBI. After the initial onslaught Javelinas starting pitcher Jake Dittler (CLE) prevented the Saguaros from scoring through the fourth inning, he finished the day with three strike outs.
The Javelinas responded with a six run fourth inning followed by a eight run blowout in the fifth, to take the lead 14-10. Cleveland prospect Ryan Garko led off the inning with a double, followed by a double from Jason Cooper (CLE). Eli Whiteside (BAL) hit a sac fly to score Garko and advance Cooper to third. After the next two batters were put out Cooper scored on a wild pitch to empty the bases. The Javelinas were not done as Jerry Owens (MON) singled and Saguaros pitcher Manny Delcarmen (BOS) walked two to load the bases. Shawn Morris (MON) hit a two run double then Kevin Kouzmanoff (CLE) hit a two run homer to clear the bases once again. To add insult to injury a fielding error put Greg Dobbs (SEA) on first base. Garko came up for a second turn in the inning and hit it out of the park, scoring Dobbs in the process.
The Saguaros battled back in the bottom of the seventh scoring four runs, cutting the lead to 14-12. John Hattig (TOR) reach on a single followed by walks issued to House and Stephan Bailie (BOS) to load the bases. Boston prospect Sheldon Fulse hit a sac fly scoring Hattig and advancing House to third. With runners at first and third Chase Lambin (NYM) hit a shot to left center to clear the bases. Lambin also hit a two run home run in the sixth cleared the wall and sailed over the hitters background in right field.
The Javelinas came back in the eighth scoring two runs and were able to hold off a Saguaros one run surge by the Saguaros in the bottom of inning.
Cooper and Garko led the Javelinas with four and three hits repectively. Hattig and Lambin paced the Saguaros with three and two hits.
