Rhinos sign Defenders Sedgewick and Wright

(Rochester, NY)Â… Rochester Raging Rhinos Vice President and General Manager Chris Economides announced today that the club has agreed to terms with defenders Bill Sedgewick and David Wright.

Sedgewick, a native of Wheatridge, CO, is entering his sixth season with the Rhinos in 2004 after singing a two-year contract with Rochester. The physical defender notched a goal and an assist for three points, and was the only Rhino to start all 28 matches last season. The 6’0” 185 pound Sedgewick is known for his extensive community involvement and has twice been honored with the Iacovangelo Community Service Award for outstanding service to the Rochester area.

Wright, a four-year veteran of the A-League, spent his entire career with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, prior to joining the Rhinos in 2004. The 6’4” 210 pound defender recorded a goal and three points last season while patrolling the back in a career-high 25 games for the Riverhounds. As a rookie in 2000, Wright was selected as Pittsburgh’s Rookie of the Year. In 2002 he was named the team’s Unsung Hero after coming back from an MCL injury to play the final nine matches. Wright has agreed to a three-year deal with Rochester.
