CFL PLAYOFFS RETURN TO AMERICAN TELEVISION

by Jason Kmet

Fans below the 49th parallel starved for their fix of three down football, take heart. Canadian Football League games are available on American television screens for the first time since 1997. For some, this is old news. America One Television, a group of over 120 affiliated stations across the States, has been broadcasting games since September. However, with the start of the the playoffs last weekend, a couple of cable sports channels have added CFL games. Fox Sports World and Florida's The Sunshine Network will show this weekend's division finals and the Grey Cup on November 25th.

Most America One stations will show the remaining games live. Hamilton at Winnipeg will be shown at 1:00 pm EST on Sunday followed by the Calgary at Edmonton game at 4:00 pm. The Grey Cup will be broadcast live at 6:00 pm EST. Fox Sports World will show the Hamilton at Winnipeg game at 8:00 pm EST on Sunday and the Calgary at Edmonton game at the same time on Monday. Fox's Grey Cup coverage on the following Sunday will begin with a pre game show at 5:00 pm EST with the game starting at 6:00.
