
AIF Welcomes Back Saginaw Sting

SAGINAW, MI. - American Indoor Football (AIF), is proud to announce that the Saginaw Sting will be returning to play in the 2016 season.
The Saginaw Sting, located in the Great Lakes Bay Region of Michigan, are owned and operated by Jim O'Brien and Stuart Schweigert. The Sting will enter their 8th season of play this coming spring.
States Jim O'Brien, "It is the goal of Sting Football to evaluate the talent around the Great Lakes Bay Region and to put not only a talented team on the field, but one that is filled with solid off-field character. A win on the field is good, but a win in life is great. Sting Football plans to be a strong character builder in the community, not only in the game of football but the game of life." O'Brien goes on to say, "We operate to serve the community with Pride and Passion as a quality example of individual and team excellence on the field, in the office, at the arena, and within the community by consistently exceeding fans expectations by demonstrating the highest character, appreciation and respect for the game."
Saginaw's home games are played at The Dow Event Center on Draper Auto Field in front of an average of nearly 3,000 fans per game.
The Sting are one of a handful of indoor teams to ever win a championship in multiple leagues (CIFL in 2008, UIFL 2011, CIFL 2012) and will look to add another banner to the rafters in 2016.
"We are extremely proud to have Saginaw in the AIF," said AIF Owner John Morris, "The Sting are a very solid organization, with Jim and Stu. We look forward to the great competition that will take place in the region!"
