Kentucky Xtreme to Return to the CIFL for 2014

July 23, 2013 - Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) News Release


Bridgeport, MI - The Continental Indoor Football League is pleased to announce it has come to terms with the Kentucky Xtreme for the 2014 season.

"We are pleased to return for our second season in the CIFL." said Xtreme General Manager Victor Cole, "We had a great first season by falling one game shy of the championship. We're excited and look forward to a fun and more competitive 2014 within the league."

The Xtreme will join the returning 2013 CIFL Champion Erie Explosion, Saginaw Sting, Dayton Sharks, Port Huron Patriots, Detroit Thunder, and soon to be announced expansion teams for the 2014 season. For more information regarding the Kentucky Xtreme please visit www.kentuckyxtreme.com. With the signing of the Xtreme, the CIFL can now boast the returning of the top 6 teams from last season.

The Xtreme play their home contests at the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center's Freedom Hall. The Xtreme finished the 2013 season with a 7-4 mark losing to the Erie Explosion in the semi-final game of the playoffs.

The CIFL is entering its 9th year and is the longest continually running Professional Indoor Football League in the United States. The 2014 CIFL season is set to kick off in early February.
