South Valley Fever Added To Expansion Teams

May 24, 2010 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release


Indianapolis, IN. - Professional basketball has found a home in the Santa Rosa Rancheria Gym in Lemoore, California," according to Joe Newman, ABA CEO. "The ABA is proud to announce its latest expansion team for the upcoming season, the South Valley Fever, under the ownership and coaching of Marco Vazquez, a person well known to the area having coached top local high school players in the AAU circuit for the past five years. He is a very capable young man and I know he will make a great owner."

"Our goal is to make up a team of athletes who have played college basketball at Fresno State, Arizona State, Univeristy of Missouri, Middle Tennessee State, San Diego State, UC Riverside, Avila University, Rocky Mountain College, the Mexican pro league, Fresno City College and College of the Sequoias - the majority of whom live in the area and have played and graduated from high schools in Lemoore, Hanford,

Tulare, Visalia, Fresno, Sanger and Latori," stated Vazquez. "We have a tremendous amount of great talent right here and I know we will be very competitive."

"We ar excited to be part of this great league, a part of this dynamic community and look forward to developing relationships with local businesses as well as becoming an integral part of family-friendly sports entertainment here in the South Valley area," added Vazquez.

Home games will be held at the Santa Rosa Rancheria Coyote Corner Gymnasium. Myron Epps will serve as the team's General Manager; Jess Thompson as the team's Director of Basketball Operations.
