Last Week in Review

The Danbury Mad Hatters 16-13-1) had their strongest showing of the year going 3-1 on the week. The ‘Hatters only loss of the week was an exciting 1-0 loss to the Brooklyn Aces (25-5-3) on Sunday afternoon. The Jersey Rockhoppers (19-12-1) went 2-1 in a week that included a big 4-1 victory at Brooklyn on Saturday night and a 7-6 loss to the Hudson Valley Bears (3-27-1) on Sunday night. The Hudson Valley victory was the Bears first home win of the season.

EPHL Player of the Week

The Hudson Valley Bears Scott Estey & John Geverd are the Co-Eastern Professional Hockey League Players of the Week. The two Hudson Valley forwards each had a seven point week. John Geverd, from Hooksett, New Hampshire tallied four goals and added three assists while Highland Falls, New York native Scott Estey scored three goals and four assists. In the Bears 7-6 victory over Jersey on Sunday (2/8), both John & Scott scored twice. Estey is playing in his first professional season as is Geverd. On the year, John Geverd has 37 points (13 goals & 24 points) and Scott Estey has 35 points (16 goals & 19 assists).

EPHL Goaltender of the Week

Eddie Neville of the Brooklyn Aces has been named the Eastern Professional Hockey League Goaltender of the Week. Neville posted the first shutout of the EPHL season on Sunday (2/8) by stopping all 41 Danbury shots on goal as the Aces defeated the Mad Hatters 1-0. The Kresgeville, Pennsylvania puck stopper has posted a 2.93 goals against average, a record of 12-3-2, and a 91.5% save percentage for Brooklyn.

EPHL Notes

This coming Saturday night, February 14th, female fans attending the Jersey Rockhoppers home game in West Orange, New Jersey will have the opportunity to "Win a Date with your Favorite Rockhopper" as a part of Valentine's Day activities that evening. All females in attendance can participate in a silent auction to win a date with their favorite Rockhoppers players.
