New Jersey Ironmen News Release

Newark, N.J. (Wednesday, November 19, 2008) - With the December 14th season opener on the horizon, the New Jersey Ironmen announced today that they have come to terms with veteran midfielder Sandre "Sunny" Naumoski. Fresh off a tour with the U.S National Futsal Team, Naumoski will put on the Maroon and Mandarin colors of the Ironmen for the first time when they host the Chicago Storm in their 2008-09 debut.

"The most important thing about Sunny is the flexibility in his play," Ironmen Head Coach Omid Namazi commented about his latest acquisition. "He can fill in a few different positions. Additionally, not only does he have good character, but he also works hard and is a reliable player."

Naumoski was born in the Republic of Macedonia and played college soccer at Southern Nazarene University, receiving All-Conference First Team accolades. He first played professional indoor soccer with the Kansas City Comets in 2003-04 and turned in an impressive rookie campaign by tallying 15 points on nine goals and six assists. After being selected by the Chicago Storm in the 2004 Dispersal Draft, he turned in a 25-point season when he registered 14 goals and 11 helpers. Prior to the 2005-06 season, the SNU alumnus hooked up with current Ironmen headman Omid Namazi to suit up for the St. Louis Steamers. The duo reached the league championship that year, and Naumoski did his part by hitting 13 goals and setting up another three scores. The next stop for the Macedonian midfielder was in Philadelphia where he was a member of the 2006-07 championship KiXX. In two seasons in the City of Brotherly Love, he recorded 42 points on 13 goals and 16 assists. For his five-year career, Naumoski has 53 blocks and is two points short of the century mark.

The New Jersey Ironmen will open up preseason training on Monday, December 1, and the club has one more open tryout scheduled. The club will host a tryout at Turf City in Wayne this Saturday, November 22, slated to begin at 7:00 p.m. Players interested in attending open tryouts must pre-register by calling Gioia DiFlumeri, Ironmen Operations Manager, at 973-757-6303. Registration for tryouts is $50, and the non-refundable fee must be submitted in cash or check. Tryouts will be conducted on sports turf, and soccer attire (including indoor flats) is required. Applicants will be limited so those interested are encouraged to register as soon as they can.

The New Jersey Ironmen will make their 2008-09 season debut at Prudential Center on Sunday, December 14th, opening up their sophomore campaign at 4:00 p.m. against the Chicago Storm. The Ironmen are also partnering with Jersey Cares by hosting a coat drive at their home opener to benefit the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. Fans are encouraged to bring gently-worn coats that can be donated at the Prudential Center entrances. The Ironmen provide fun and affordable family entertainment with tickets starting at only $10!
