Headed to Tennessee
December 5, 2007 - All American Football League (AAFL) News Release
Lots of new stuff going on with the All American Football League. So let's get to it:
We are in Knoxville this week (Thursday (12/6) and Friday (12/7)) for our Tennessee workouts. Lots of great Volunteer football players going to be there. But before we mention names, check this out: Turner Sports is going to be web casting the entire workout. Just go to http://www.allamericanfootballleague.com/TNtryouts.php to watch the tryouts live (archives will also be available after the event).
So in addition to seeing the drills and the Tennessee players, you'll see live interviews with Danny Wuerffel, Eric Crouch, Joe DeLamielleure and of course our Tennessee players as well.
Our Tennessee contingent is being led by Tee Martin. Most of us remember Tee as the quarterback who succeeded Peyton Manning - where he promptly did two things Manning never did: 1) He won the national championship. 2) Beat the Gators.
You can be sure our Florida players remember Tee Martin very well. Very well indeed.
Joining Martin are other University of Tennessee veterans such as James Wilhoit, Cody Douglas, Constantin Ritzmann, Bobby Graham, Corey Larkins and dozens of others.
And if you like Tennessee quarterbacks, you'll love our new Tennessee coach. Tune into the webcast at http://www.allamericanfootballleague.com/TNtryouts.php at 3 p.m. on Thursday 12/6 and watch for yourself as the coach is announced.
We also signed this week our first major sponsor: New Balance. Our agreement is a three year deal where New Balance is going to provide all of our footwear, on field apparel and the like.

Add that to our recent announcement that the NFL will provide officials for all of our games, and you can see how busy our folks have been.
Around the rest of the league, our big stars continue to attract major media attention.
Eric Crouch was on ESPN national radio on Tuesday talking about his new league.
And Chris Leak continues to be the toast of Florida media with several appearances on Orlando and Jacksonville TV news.

And our Alabama guys are as popular as ever with Crimson Tide fans. You can listen to Reggie Myles and Rudy Griffin here:

Down in Texas, Houston media is buzzing with news about our coach, John Jenkins.
"University of Houston Athletic Director Dave Maggard won't confirm the reports, but it's looking more and more like the former Oilers head coach (Jack Pardee) could be headed back to Cullen Blvd..."
"Pardee reportedly initially told Maggard that he would take the job if John Jenkins would come too, to run the offense ....but Jenkins is already committed to Houston's new AAFL team and didn't want to break that commitment."
