AIFL Adds NFL Names and Faces

Glen Burnie, MD - The AIFL, (Atlantic Indoor Football League) founder, Andrew Haines announced today the joining of two NFL faces of the past. "The Fontes Brothers," jump on the AIFL bandwagon by becoming Advisory Board Members.
Wayne Fontes is most notable as the former Detroit Lion's Head Coach, but not to overlook his two NCAA National Championships with USC (70s). During his 8 years with the Lions, he accepted the honor of the prestigious NFL Coach of the Year award in 1991, coached one of the greatest running backs of all time, Barry Sanders (recent NFL Hall of Fame inductee), won two division titles and made four trips to the playoffs.
John Fontes also established himself as a credible coach at all levels. He has picked up NCAA Championships with the Miami Hurricanes and the LSU Tigers in the 80's. He also added League Championships with the Tampa Bay Storm (AFL) and the Sacramento Surge (WFL) in the early 90's. In the NFL, John helped propel the Minnesota Vikings (2001) and Detroit Lions (90s).
"I feel honored to be on a committee that will enhance the game of football through a new league and concept," John Fontes said.
Wayne and John Fontes add to the NFL realm of the AIFL started by Tim McKyer. McKyer is AIFL Commissioner and 3-time NFL champion.
"The AIFL is going in the direction it should be and that is proven by Wayne and John Fontes. It's great to have them both on the Advisory Board to give insight by reflecting on their past experiences. Wayne and John both provide great character and prestige to the league, not to mention many accomplishments," AIFL founder, Haines commented.
