All-CBA Teams Announced

Boise, Idaho (March 18, 2003)â The Continental Basketball Association announced the All-League First and Second teams today as selected by CBA head coaches. To be eligible players must have played in 24 games (1/2 of the 48 game schedule) and must be in good standing with the CBA. Coaches could not vote for their own players. Team members are listed below in order of votes received, beginning with the most.
ALL-LEAGUE FIRST TEAM
ANDY PANKO, Dakota Wizards â F, 6-9, 222 (Lebanon Valley '99) â Earned Most Valuable Player award, three Player of the Week awards, and voted to the National Conference All-Star Team (6 pts., 8 reb.)...Ranked second in scoring (22.8 ppg), sixth in rebounding (6.4 rpg), fifth in double-doubles (15), fifth in free-throw percentage (243-277, .877), and fifth in three-point shooting percentage (62-143, .434)...Posted Wizards' season highs in points (41), field goals made (16), field goals attempted (25), and three-point field goals made (5) versus Idaho on Feb. 11.
BRYANT NOTREE, Gary Steelheads â G, 6-4, 200 (Illinois-Chicago '99) â Earned two Player of the Week awards, voted to the American Conference All-Star Team (21 pts., 9 reb.), and won the 2003 Slam Dunk Championship...Placed second in Newcomer of the Year balloting and tied for sixth in MVP balloting...Ranked fifth in scoring (21.3 ppg)...Posted Steelheads' season highs in points (37), field goals (16), and field goal attempts (32) versus Rockford on Jan. 17.
RONNIE FIELDS, Rockford Lightning â G, 6-1, 205 (Farragut HS '96) â Earned one American Conference Player of the Week award and voted to the American Conference All-Star Team (6 pts., 3 reb.)...Placed third in MVP balloting...Became first player in CBA history to lead the league in scoring (23.2 ppg) and steals (2.6 spg).
DAMIEN CANTRELL, Yakima Sun Kings â F, 6-6, 233 (San Francisco '99) â Earned Newcomer of the Year award and a league-high four National Conference Player of the Week awards...Placed second in MVP balloting...Led CBA in rebounding (12.8 rpg), offensive rebounding (4.4 orpg), and double-doubles (27)...Ranked second in three-point field goal percentage (.460, 40-87), seventh in field goal percentage (221-392, .564), and 17th in scoring (16.2 ppg).
JERALD HONEYCUTT, Grand Rapids Hoops â F, 6-8, 275 (Tulane '97) â Earned two American Conference Player of the Week awards and was voted to the American Conference All-Star Team (DNP- Injury)...Placed fifth in MVP balloting...Ranked third in scoring (22.6 ppg) and 11th in rebounding (7.6 rpg)...Posted Hoops' season highs in field goals (19) and field goal attempts (34) versus Gary on Dec. 3.
ALL-LEAGUE SECOND TEAM
OLIVER MILLER, Dakota Wizards â C, 6-10, 235 (Arkansas '92) â Traded from Gary to Dakota on Feb. 10...Earned one American Conference Player of the Week award with Gary, one National Conference award with Dakota, and was voted to the American Conference All-Star Team (7 reb., 3 blks.) as a member of the Steelheads...Tied for sixth in MVP balloting...Led CBA in blocks (2.5 bpg)...Ranked second in rebounding (12.1 rpg), second in double-doubles (26), sixth in field goal percentage (272-464, .586), and 19th in scoring (15.7 ppg)...Blocked CBA season high 9 shots versus Sioux Falls on Jan. 23 (Tied Steelheads record)...Posted Steelheads' season high in rebounds (25) versus Rockford on Dec. 28, and Wizards' season high in rebounds (23) versus Idaho on Feb. 25.
ALEX SCALES, Grand Rapids Hoops â G, 6-3, 180 (Oregon '00) â Placed fourth in Newcomer of the Year balloting...Ranked sixth in scoring (19.7 ppg) and steals (2.0 spg)... Scored CBA season high 52 points (Tied for 25th all-time) versus Rockford on Feb. 2...Posted Hoops' season high in three-point field goals (8) versus Rockford on Feb. 2.
ALBERT WHITE, Rockford Lightning â G, 6-6, 235 (Missouri '99) â Voted to the American Conference All-Star Team (28 pts, 7 reb., 3 stls.)...Placed fourth in MVP balloting...Ranked fourth in scoring (22.0 ppg), fifth in double-doubles (15), 12th in rebounding (7.5 rpg), 12th in assists (3.6 apg), and 12th in steals (1.6 spg).
TYSON WHEELER, Great Lakes Storm â G, 5-10, 173 (Rhode Island '98) â Traded from Yakima to Great Lakes on Jan. 18...Voted to the National Conference All-Star Team (11 pts., 14 asts., 5 stls.) as a member of the Sun Kings where he broke the individual assist record (13, Sidney Lowe, 1988)...Led CBA in assists (8.2 apg)... Ranked fourth in double-doubles (16), 17th in scoring (16.5 ppg) and 10th in steals (1.7)...Broke Sun Kings' all-time single game points record (46) versus Rockford on Nov. 19...Broke Sun Kings' all-time single game assist record with 23 (Tied for ninth all-time), versus Grand Rapids on Jan. 11... KEVIN RICE, Dakota Wizards â G/F, 6-3, 198 (Utah State '98) â Earned Defensive Player of the Year and All-Defensive Team honors...Ranked 3rd in steals (2.3 spg), 8th in three-point field goal percentage (48-114, .421), 10th in free-throw shooting (169-206, .820), and 24th in scoring (13.1 ppg)...Posted an all-time Wizards' high in steals (7) versus Yakima on Dec. 31...Posted a Wizards' season high in three-point field goals (5) versus Gary on Jan. 25.
