The Albany Empire (1-0) defeated the Destroyers (0-1), 35-19, in front of 11,682 fans at the Times Union Center. Empire quarterback Tommy Grady went 25 of 34 passes for 230 yards and four passing touchdowns earning himself the game MVP award.
