Acadiana Cane Cutters Dominate Top Awards in the Texas Collegiate League

September 12, 2018 - The 2018 post season awards for the Texas Collegiate League have been released and the Acadiana Cane Cutters have taken two of the top three awards for the season. Pitcher of the Year award went to Matthew Beck (LSU) of the Acadiana Cane Cutters and Freshman of the Year went to Rhett McCall (Lamar) of the Acadiana Cane Cutters and Austin Hendrix (Texas A&M) of the Brazos Valley Bombers. August 12, 2018 - VICTORIA, Tx. - In a dramatic winner-take-all finale, the Acadiana Cane Cutters fell to the Victoria Generals 7-4. Acadiana began the game with a double from second baseman Mason Corbett (Texas A&M) who was then driven in by right fielder Cole Secrest (Lamar University). August 10, 2018 - Victoria, Tx. - The Acadiana Cane Cutters fell to the Victoria Generals 12-6 to force game three of the Texas Collegiate League Championship. The Cutters struggled early in the game but battled hard to put runs on the board in the final three innings. August 10, 2018 - YOUNGSVILLE, La. - In a close game that had everyone on the edge of their seat until the last out, the Acadiana Cane Cutters took the championship opener from the Victoria Generals 2-1.
