Honu, CaneFires Play To Tie

November 9, 2008 - North Shore and West Oahu played to a 6-6 tie this afternoon in seven innings at Hans L'Orange Park. The CaneFires (16-14) remained 3 ½ games ahead of the Honu (13-18) in the race for Hawaii Winter Baseball's West Division. With four games remaining in the regular season, West Oahu needs only to win one of those contests in order to secure a spot in the HWB Championship Game on November 16. November 6, 2008 - North Shore took advantage of 11 Waikiki walks as the Honu posted an 11-1 win over the BeachBoys tonight at Hans L'Orange Park. Matt McBride led North Shore at the plate, going 3-5 with two RBIs, while teammates Kyle Martin and Kurt Mertins each drove in a pair. November 2, 2008 - North Shore picked up three runs in the sixth inning and held on for the 3-1 victory over Honolulu this afternoon at Les Murakami Stadium. The Honu (12-15) snapped a 15-inning scoreless streak that spanned three games with a three-run sixth inning to take their first lead of the game. November 1, 2008 - North Shore picked up a wire-to-wire 5-1 victory over Honolulu tonight at Les Murakami Stadium. With its third straight win, North Shore improves to 11-14 and moves to within a game of West Oahu's Hawaii Winter Baseball West Division lead. The Honu wasted no time getting on the board, as leadoff man Corey Brown reached on an infield single and Kyle Martin smacked a home run over the wall in left-center field to put North Shore up 2-0 in the first inning.
