Alabama Outlawz News Release
Alabama Outlawz traveled to face Florida Marine Raiders on Saturday but the Raiders secondary couldn't find a way to stop the former Tiger from Jackson State Marsellos Wilder. He had 9 receptions 160 yards and 4 touchdowns. QB Garrett Sutphen who went 17 for 31 (55%), 229 yards, 6 Touchdowns, and 1 interception said "he felt comfortable with Coach Bonner offensive game plan and has confidence with Marsellos ability no matter who is playing defense on Wilder."
Florida did score four touchdowns on the ground behind new QB Maurice Francois and RB Levi Raines. Francois rushed for 14 carries for 76 yards and 2 TD's. Raines rushed for 12 carries for 81 yards and 2 TD's. Francois was picked off by Kent Ingram Jr. late in the end zone under one minute to go in the game that would have given the Raiders doubled points to take the lead with 43 seconds left in the game.
The Outlawz defense was led by defensive end Jerrard "Superman" Jones who had 7 tackles and 2 sack in the game. Coach Ellison was proud of how his guys played together and through adversity. The Outlawz became the second team in Raiders history to win inside the "Boneyard" where Florida Marine Raiders call home. Alabama Outlawz move into second place with the victory.
The team will return to the Birmingham Crossplex-Bill Harris Arena this Friday April 25th 7pm against the Chattahoochee Vipers. Outlawz will show support to Breast Cancer Awareness by wearing pink accessories. Ticket prices have been lowered. Upper level seating will be $8 and lower level seating has been reduced to $14.
