Stevenson named IBL's Player of the Week

BELLINGHAM, Wash.-Bellingham Slam guard Jacob Stevenson has been named the International Basketball League's Player of the Week, the league announced today.

Stevenson scored 36 points and added ten assists, five rebounds and four steals in Bellingham's 127-108 victory over the Vancouver Volcanoes last Friday. The win improved the Slam's record to 2-1 on the season.

Stevenson is currently the Slam's statistical leader in three categories - points (29.3 per game), assists (7.3) and steals (3.7). He is also second on the team in rebounding, with 7.3 boards per game.

Stevenson has finished among the team's leaders in scoring the previous two seasons, and was named an IBL All-Star in 2008 and 2009.

Stevenson, who joined the Slam in 2005 for the team's first season following a fine career at Western Washington University,is alsothe team's all-time leader in games played.

The Slam round out their April homestand on Friday when they face the British Columbia Titans. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.at Whatcom Pavilion.
