
MudCats Congratulate Thomas for Advancement to AAFL

(Tupelo, MS) The Mississippi MudCats of the American Indoor Football Association would like to congratulate Stacey Thomas, who was signed by the MudCats for the upcoming season and then later drafted by the All American Football League.
Thomas (5' 11'" - 200) Defensive Back and New Orleans, LA native had an impressive College career with Texas Southern University and was the 2006 SWAC Defensive Player of the Year. In 2007 he was signed by the Buffalo Bills of the NFL as a free agent and later with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He had previously signed with the Mississippi MudCats for the upcoming 2008 season and was later drafted by Team Texas of the AAFL in Houston, TX.
Co-Offensive Coordinator / Player Personnel Coach, Kirk Brossard said, "We had expected Stacey Thomas to be an impact player for us on Defensive, but thats what I love to see our guys get to advance. We are truly happy that he has the opportunity to play at the next level with Team Texas," noting that he will be sorely missed.
