
Mayor Wolfe To Make Opening Toss

With the season opening on February 20th, the Huntington Hammer is proud to announce that the first coin toss will be made by Huntington's Mayor Kim Wolfe. A lifelong resident of Huntington, Kim Wolfe was born in 1948 where he attended Mount Union School and Huntington High School.ÃÂ He then served two tours of duty in the United States Navy in Vietnam.
Mayor Wolfe graduated from Marshall University, having studied Criminal Justice Administration. ÃÂ He served as a Huntington Police officer for 26 years, was elected Sheriff of Cabell County from 2000 through 2008, and was elected Mayor of the City of Huntington on January 1, 2009.
He and his wife, Deborah, have 8 children and 11 grandchildren.
The Hammer is glad to share the historical moment with Mayor Wolfe. He has been a big help and a big supporter of our team for these many months of preparation that has lead up to the toss, it's wonderful that we can share it with him.
The Huntington Hammer is a founding member of the Ultimate Indoor Football League and will begin play February 20th, 2011 at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena.
