Injury to Ninjas' Barbosa Gives Fairfield's Wise Roster Spot

New Haven, Conn. - The New Haven Ninjas today announced that WR/LB Dennis Barbosa has been placed on injured reserve. The 6-3 Barbosa, who suffered a pulled groin Wednesday night in practice, was scheduled to start Saturday's game in Rochester. To fill the roster spot, the Ninjas activated Fairfield University alum Eric Wise from recallable waivers.
Barbosa's starting spot will most likely be filled with Eric Bland (6-0, 200), with Wise moving into the number two spot. Barbosa must stay on injured reserve for two games before returning to the team.
The Ninjas' home opener is Saturday, April 13 at the New Haven Coliseum.
