TAMPA BAY - The Arena Football League announced today that Tampa Bay Storm wide receiver Kendrick Ings was named the Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in week thirteen versus the Washington Valor.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Ings (5-foot-10, 180 lbs., Miller Grove H.S.) was vital to the Storm's 55-51 comeback win versus the Washington Valor this past weekend. With 10 seconds remaining in regulation, and the Storm down by three points, Ings caught the game-winning touchdown to put the Storm ahead for good.
Ings led all receivers with 11 catches for 111 yards and two touchdowns. The second-year veteran would also return six kickoffs for 161 yards, including a 56-yard return for a touchdown. He would finish the night with 287 all purpose yards.
An All-Arena candidate, Ings finds himself in the top-5 of several categories including: all purpose yards (1st-1,651), all purpose yards per game (1st-165.1), kick return average (1st-20.6), kick returns (1st-40), kick return yards (1st-824), kick return TDs (T1st-2), points scored (4th-108), receptions per game (4th-7.4), receiving yards (4th-812) and receptions (3rd-74).
This is Ings's first weekly award and the ninth for the Storm.
