
Freedom Signs Two More to Defend the Fort

The Fort Wayne Freedom announces the signing of Jeffrey Lewis and Keith Recker for the 2009 season.
Returning to the team this year will be defensive lineman and Benedict College alum Jeffrey Lewis. At 6'7 inches and 320 pounds, Lewis was an important link in the defense chain for the Freedom last season. Lewis began his collegiate career at the University of South Carolina prior to transferring to Benedict College
Also returning to the team this season is another former Freedom player, TE/OL Keith Recker, of Hillsdale College. Recker "loved the atmosphere of the fans and the stadium, and I hope we get that back." Recker, who is 6'3" and weighing in at 260, was a two-time All American at Hillsdale and also played in the 2006 Cactus Bowl in Kingsville, TX. He's currently a high school math teacher in Oak Harbor, OH.
