FORMER NFL LINEMAN WILL WOLFORD APPROVED TO OPERATE THE LOUISVILLE FIRE

af2 Press Release

CHICAGO - The league office of arenafootball2 announced today that Will Wolford has been approved to operate the Louisville Fire.

A Louisville native, Wolford played in three Super Bowls (1991, 1992, 1993) for the Buffalo Bills in his 13-year NFL career. He was an All-Pro offensive lineman in 1990, 1992 and 1995. He also played for the Indianapolis Colts and Pittsburgh Steelers.

"I am very excited to be able to extend my football career in this fashion," Wolford said. "It's not always easy for a player to end his career. I have been a big fan of Arena Football for a while. The speed and in-your-face action makes it very unique and entertaining. I can't wait for our first game of the 2002 season-I doubt anyone will be more excited than myself. I may have to make a comeback and play."

The Fire will hold a press conference on Oct. 29. At that time, Wolford will announce the team's new office address and contact information, including ticket sales phone numbers.

"It's an honor to have someone as professional and well-respected as Mr. Wolford in our league," said Interim af2 Executive Director Jay Marcus. "Louisville is a great football market and the Fire fans deserve someone as first-class as Will. I'm confident that the excellence he achieved in the NFL will carry over to the Fire and the af2."

In other Fire news, Dave Arnold was named the team's General Manager.
