LANCASTER, Calif. - The California League announced Monday that JetHawks outfielder Vince Fernandez has been named Player of the Week for the period from May 14-20. Fernandez was a force in the lineup as Lancaster won each of its first five games last week.

Fernandez hit .370 (10-for-27) with three home runs, three doubles, a triple and six RBI over seven games. He recorded at least a hit in the first five of those games, all wins for the JetHawks.

In a three-game sweep of Visali at home, Fernandez went 6-for-11 with three home runs and four runs batted in. He homered twice on May 16, becoming the third JetHawk with a multi-homer game this season.

Lancaster has taken home three of the first six California League Player of the Week awards. Colton Welker won for the period from April 5-15 and Roberto Ramos won for his work from April 30-May 6.
