Buffalo Lightning News Release
Supreme Indoor Football (S.I.F) is pleased to announce that the Buffalo Lightning from Buffalo, New York have joined the S.I.F. to begin play in the 2016 season. The organization will also be a member of the Indoor Football Alliance, a governing body for indoor football. The Buffalo Lightning were formed in April of 2014 and played their first season in 2015 as a member of American Indoor Football League. Owner Bob Guenther was looking for a change that was better suited for his team and after careful consideration decided to join Supreme Indoor Football. The Lightning's home arena will again be the Cattaraugus Community Center, a Seneca Nation-owned facility located on the Cattaraugus Reservation in Irving, New York about 30 miles south of Buffalo. It is a gorgeous 4 year old, 26 million dollar, multi-purpose facility which boasts one of the best indoor artificial turf fields in the country.
At the helm of the Lightning in 2016 will be new head coach and indoor football veteran player Mook Zimmerman. Mook has a wealth of experience in the indoor football game and looks to help build a strong and competitive team to Buffalo.
Besides having all of their home games televised locally, the Lightning will be playing in a Supreme Indoor Football nationally televised game on May 8th, 2016 against the Cape Fear Heroes from Fayetteville North Carolina.
As part of the allure to attend a Buffalo home game, the Lightning will bring in many national celebrities from the athletic and entertainment fields to sign autographs and take pictures with. Twenty-five lucky fans along with all of the team's sponsors will also be invited to a post-game dinner and meet-and-greet with each celebrity.
Jack Bowman National Director of the S.I.F. is extremely excited and knows that the Buffalo Lightning will be a very strong addition to the league. "Buffalo's dedication to put forth the best product on the field, great halftime interactive fan experience opportunities combined alliances with charitable causes and youth mentoring programs fall directly in line with the S.I.F. vision. Welcome Lightning!"
Look for additional S.I.F. teams to be announced in the near future.
