Prince Albert falls in first meeting with Memorial Cup Hosts

Prince Albert, SK - In a match-up featuring two teams leading their respective divisions, the Prince Albert Raiders fell 4-0 to the Red Deer Rebels at the Art Hauser Centre on Friday night.

Going up against the Memorial Cup hosts, the Raiders held their own through the majority of the game. The score remained close until Red Deer put the score out of reach late in the third period.

Adam Musil and Haydn Fleury each scored a goal and added an assist to lead the Rebels with two points. Grayson Pawlenchuk and Evan Polei also found the back of the net for the visitors.

Getting his fifth-straight start in goal for the Raiders, Rylan Parenteau was steady once again with 35 saves on 39 shots. Rylan Toth pitched a shutout for the Rebels as he stopped all 34 shots.

The Rebels outshot the Raiders 39-34. Prince Albert went 0-for-4 on the power play, while Red Deer was 1-for-3.

The Raiders record drops to 12-4-1-1 with the result tonight, while the Rebels improve their mark to 13-5-0-0.

The Prince Albert Raiders are back in action on Saturday, November 7 as they visit the Moose Jaw Warriors.
