Storm Bulks up Offensive Line

TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Storm has acquired offensive lineman Garrison Ushery announced Storm Vice President of Football Operations Jeff Gooch.

"We made it a priority to bring in players that can help on our offensive line," said Gooch. "Garrison is one of the players we believe will be able to make an impact on the offensive side of the ball."

Ushery (6-foot-1, 315 lbs., West Georgia) joins the Storm for his rookie season in the Arena Football League. The Austell, Georgia native played collegiately at Saint Augustine's University before transferring to the University of West Georgia. Ushery started in 22-of-32 games along the offensive line for the Wolves. He earned several awards during his three seasons at UWG, including First Team All-Gulf South Conference in his junior and senior seasons.

"I want to thank my family and friends for motivating me and pushing me this far," said Ushery. "I'd also like to thank all of the coaching staff and faculty from the University of West Georgia. It is a great opportunity to be a part of the Storm organization."

The team placed defensive back Randall Burden on injured reserve.

The Five-Time World Champion Tampa Bay Storm is in its 28th season in the Arena Football League. The Storm will host "Country Night," when it hosts the New Orleans VooDoo on Saturday, May 30, on AMALIE Motor Oil Field at Amalie Arena.
