BayHawks Acquire Returning Player Rights of Seth Curry

October 7, 2014 - NBA G League (G League)
Erie BayHawks News Release

Erie, Pennsylvania, Tuesday, October 7 - The Erie BayHawks today acquired the NBA Developmental League rights of guard Seth Curry in a trade with the Santa Cruz Warriors. In exchange for Curry's rights, Erie will provide Santa Cruz a first round pick in the 2015 NBA D-League Draft and the rights to guard Scott Suggs.

Curry, younger brother of NBA star Stephen Curry, played three years at Duke University and went undrafted in the 2013 NBA Draft. He signed a non-guaranteed contract with the Golden State Warriors and was later waived and acquired by the Santa Cruz Warriors, scoring 36 points in his first NBA D-League game and helped lead Santa Cruz to the 2014 D-League Finals.

After participating in the NBA D-League All-Star game in 2014, Curry signed a 10-day contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers but was later re-assigned to Santa Cruz. He was invited by the Orlando Magic to participate in the Orlando Summer League in June and signed with the Magic on September 29. If Curry should return to the NBA D-League he will officially become a member of the Erie BayHawks.

The BayHawks tip-off the 2014-15 season on November 14 when they travel to Idaho to play the Stampede. A week later, Erie hosts their first games of the season on November 21-22 to take on the defending champion Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Season Tickets and group tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by contacting the BayHawks front office at 814-790-5600.
