Former Jr. Mammoth Player Signed by Pro Team

August 13, 2014 - National Lacrosse League (NLL) - Colorado Mammoth News Release

DENVER - The Colorado Mammoth announced today that it has signed University of Denver alumnus and former Jr. Mammoth player Eric Law to a contract with the team, marking the first time in club history that a member of the youth program has ascended to the ranks of the professional squad. The Centennial native earned Colorado's Player of the Year Award at Arapahoe High School in 2009 when he led the Warriors to the state title.

In three seasons as a midfielder at D.U., Law amassed 86 goals and 66 assists. His totals in goals, assists and points are all top-eight in Pioneers' history.

"Eric was an inaugural member of the Jr. Mammoth, a program designed to provide promising young players with instruction from the game's best," said Mammoth president & general manager Steve Govett. "Since the days when he learned from [Mammoth defenseman] John Gallant and others, Eric has worked incredibly hard to become one of the sport's bright young talents. I couldn't be happier to say that, more than a decade later, he's once again part of this organization."

Drafted a year ago by the Toronto Rock, Law spent the 2014 season on the team's Practice Player List. Now the hometown product has the opportunity to impress in front of family and friends.

"I'm super-excited and couldn't be happier and more thrilled to be able to come back and play for the Colorado Mammoth, which is such a great organization," said Law.

The 23-year-old will get a chance to suit up for the team he once cheered for.

"I was a big Mammoth fan," proclaimed Law. "I had season tickets!"

The contract is pending league approval.
