ANCHORAGE, AK - The Colorado Eagles (29-19-6-4) fell just short of the Alaska Aces (38-17-2-3) in a 2-1 loss at Sullivan Arena on Friday night.

Aces forward Brett Findlay gave Alaska the early 1-0 lead as he put the puck past Eagles netminder Dustin Butler, blocker side, just 1:22 into the first frame.

Just 3:44 into the second period, Eagles rookie defenseman Paul Phillips tied the game at 1-1 as Aces goalie Connor Knapp fumbled his shot right into the net.

With only 5:06 left in the third stanza, Alaska forward Peter Sivak deflected a shot off of Butler's leg pad into the net to give the Aces the 2-1 advantage with the evening's first power-play goal. The Eagles forced a furious rush to try and tie the score once more, but fell just short as the Aces came out on top, 2-1. Butler, fresh off a 40-save shutout on Thursday night, was brilliant again making 39 saves on 41 shots.

The same two teams meet for the final time in Alaska on Saturday night at Sullivan Arena, with the opening face-off set for 9:15pm Mountain Time.

Great seats are available for all Eagles home games and start at just $16 per seat. Reserve your seats today by clicking ComcastTix.com, visiting the Budweiser Events Center Box Office or calling 970-686-SHOT(7468).
