American Hockey League Announces Schedule for Western Conference Finals

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... The American Hockey League has announced the following schedule for the Western Conference Finals of the 2013 Calder Cup Playoffs.

The series will pit the Grand Rapids Griffins, top affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings, against the Oklahoma City Barons, top development club for the Edmonton Oilers.

Western Conference Finals - Series "N" (best-of-seven)

3-Grand Rapids Griffins vs. 5-Oklahoma City Barons

Game 1 - Fri., May 24 - Oklahoma City at Grand Rapids, 7 ET

Game 2 - Sat., May 25 - Oklahoma City at Grand Rapids, 7 ET

Game 3 - Wed., May 29 - Grand Rapids at Oklahoma City, 7 CT

Game 4 - Fri., May 31 - Grand Rapids at Oklahoma City, 7 CT

*Game 5 - Sat., June 1 - Grand Rapids at Oklahoma City, 7 CT

*Game 6 - Tue., June 4 - Oklahoma City at Grand Rapids, 7 ET

*Game 7 - Wed., June 5 - Oklahoma City at Grand Rapids, 7 ET

The Griffins advanced to the conference finals by capping a six-game series victory over the Toronto Marlies with a come-from-behind 4-3 victory on Tuesday night.

The Barons defeated the top-seeded Texas Stars, four games to one, to reach the Western Conference Finals for the second consecutive season.

The AHL conference semifinal round will conclude on Wednesday when the Providence Bruins host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in Game 7 of their Eastern Conference series. The winner of that game will go on to meet the Syracuse Crunch for the Eastern Conference championship.
