Lancers Sign Local Veteran

Rochester Lancers News Release
(Rochester, NY) - The Rochester Lancers today announced the signing of Victor native, Sean Summerville. The 25 year old defender spent the 2012/13 season with the Chicago Soul of the MISL. He has been signed to a one-year contract with an option.
After training with the Lancers in 2011, Summerville became a staple in the Chicago Soul defense for the 2012/13 season. In 19 games, he recorded 10 blocks and helped the Soul reach the MISL semi-finals in their first season as a franchise.
Summerville played his first two collegiate seasons with Roberts Wesleyan College where he was twice named to the American Mideast Conference Honorable Mention. In his second season, was named the National Christian College Athletic Association of America East Player of the Year and to the NCCAA East First Team. He then transferred to Syracuse University and as a walk-on, made the men's soccer team. In both seasons at Syracuse, he was a member of the SU Athletic Director's Honor Roll and BIG EAST All -Academic Team.
While playing at Victor High School, Summerville helped lead the Blue Devils to a 15-2 record and the Finger Lakes East co-Championship as a senior in 2005. He tallied 16 goals and set the school single-season assist record with 17 his senior season and was selected as a 2005 Section V All-Star and 2005 Section V Class A All-Tournament Team. His accolades also include being a two-time All-Greater Rochester Honorable Mention honoree, named to the All- Finger Lakes East First Team in 2004 and 2005, All-Finger Lakes East Honorable Mention as a sophomore, Team MVP as a senior, Team Offensive MVP as a sophomore in 2003, and two- time team captain. He stands 5' 11" at 160 pounds and birthdate is August 14, 1987.
Summerville will spend this summer in Rochester and will attend Lancers events and community festivals. All fans seen in Lancers gear at any summer event or festival will be rewarded with two Lancers ticket vouchers for the 2013/14 season and a gift card from Salvatore's, Distillery, or Bill Gray's.
