2013 USL PRO Harrisburg City Islanders Schedule Released

The Harrisburg City Islanders are pleased to announce their 10th Anniversary 2013 season schedule. The City Islanders will play a total of 26 regular season games (14 home and 12 away). Included in Harrisburg's regular season games this year will be two games (one home, one away) against MLS's Colorado Rapids Reserves. In addition, Harrisburg will host Antigua Barracuda FC twice this season as Antigua will play all 26 of their regular season matches on the road this year. Harrisburg will take on each team in the USL PRO twice this season, one game at home and one game away. The City Islanders will begin their 2013 season on the road against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds at the new, 3,500-seat Highmark Stadium. Harrisburg's home opener at Skyline Sports Complex will take place on Saturday, April 27th against the Rochester Rhinos. The club will conclude their 2013 regular season on Saturday, August 17th at Dayton Dutch Lions. The USL PRO season will kick-off on Saturday, March 23rd in Los Angeles. The Harrisburg City Islanders and the USL PRO will also be welcoming two new clubs to the league, Phoenix FC Wolves and VSI Tampa Bay FC.
Within the first six weeks of their schedule, the City Islanders will be tested as they'll take on the defending champions, Charleston Battery and the Rochester Rhinos twice, and powerhouses Orlando City and Richmond Kickers once.
"We are looking forward to the start of the 2013 season as we begin our journey to the USL PRO Championship," said City Islanders Coach Bill Becher. "We are also excited about the opportunity to play against the Colorado Rapids Reserves as part of our league schedule. It will be great to have them here in front of our fans as part of our 10th Anniversary season celebration."

"Getting an additional home game with Antigua and playing each team twice makes every game more meaningful than ever before, but now, having an MLS team in the regular season schedule which counts adds a whole different level of excitement on the season."
Harrisburg City Islanders Ticket Packages are all on sale now. To celebrate the 10th Anniversary the Islanders have reduced the prices on General Admission Tickets or have added extra value to all Season Ticket Packages. Socceritaville and VIP Reserved season ticket holders will receive 14 games for the price of 12 games. Also available are Half Pack, Three Pack, and Flex Pack packages. All General Admission Ticket prices are: Adult $12, Senior $10, and Youth $7 (2012 Prices were Adult $14, Senior $12, Youth $7). Fans can save by ordering tickets online at www.cityislanders.com and receive an additional $1 off the General Admission Ticket. Online prices include: Adults $11, Senior $9, and Youth $6.
The 2013 USL PRO Playoffs will include the top eight finishers in the table, with the quarterfinals (No. 1 vs. No. 8, No. 2 vs. No. 7, etc.) set for the weekend of August 23-25. The semifinals featuring the four remaining teams will be played the following weekend, with the 2013 USL PRO Championship set for the weekend of September 6-8. All playoff rounds feature a single-game knockout format and teams will not be re-seeded following each round.
The final weekend of the regular season is set for Friday-Sunday August 16-18, with 12 of 13 teams in action as the race for playoff spots winds down.
Thanks to the new partnership with MLS, each of the 13 USL PRO teams will compete in two interleague games against MLS Reserve League opponents. With the exception of Antigua, which will play both of its games at MLS Reserve teams, USL PRO teams have been paired with a single MLS team to play a home and home series. All inter-league games will count in both the official USL PRO and MLS Reserve League standings.
The interleague schedule gets underway on Sunday, April 7, when the Los Angeles Galaxy Reserves travel across town to face the Los Angeles Blues at Cal State Fullerton's Titan Stadium and the Portland Timbers Reserves travel to face VSI Tampa Bay FC.
