Antwon Young Named PIFL MVP

July 13, 2012 - Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL)

KNOXVILLE, TN (July 13, 2012) - The Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) is proud to announce that Richmond Raiders QB Antwon Young has been named the 2012 PIFL League Most Valuable Player.

QB Antwon Young (6'4 220, Villanova) earned his first MVP honor leading the Richmond Raiders to a 10-2 regular season record along with helping turnaround a club that finished over .500 for the first time earning a berth in their first playoff game.

Directed by Young, Richmond ended the 2012 regular season as the PIFL's top scoring offense (60.2 points/game) and rush offense (49.0 yards/game) with Antwon averaging a league-high 4.4 yards per rush.

Starting under center in all 12 games, Young completed the 2012 season throwing for over 2,600 yards and 55 touchdowns finishing second in the PIFL in total offense (253 yards/game) while accounting for over 3,000 total yards. He also collected a total of 73 touchdowns leading all QB's in rushing TD's with 18 and threw for a league-low five interceptions in 389 pass attempts.
