Tigers Annouce Prospective Host Family Meeting

NORWICH- The Connecticut Tigers will be holding a meeting for potential host families on Thursday, May 10 at "The Yard Bar and Grill" inside Dodd Stadium from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The meeting is for those interested in learning more about becoming a host family for the first time. Food and drink will be provided.

The Tigers are looking for host families in the community to house one or more players for the 2012 season. In addition to the chance to house a potential Major Leaguer, host families receive a number of additional exclusive benefits.

Each host family receives a pair of reserved seat season tickets to all 38 home games as well as discounts in the Tigers merchandise store, and a preseason meet and greet with the players.

Players will be in need of housing from mid-June through the first week of September.

The Connecticut Tigers are the Class-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and play in the New York-Penn League. The Tigers saw a 23% increase in attendance in 2011 (the 4th highest in Minor League Baseball), and will open their third season at Dodd Stadium on June 20 against the Lowell Spinners, affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.
