Mesquite Bandits Name Louis Fite Head Coach

December 5, 2011 - Lone Star Football League (LSFL) Mesquite Bandits

SAN ANGELO, TX. : The Mesquite Bandits Indoor Professional Football organization is pleased to announce on Monday, December 5 that Louis Fite has been named the Head Coach for the organization's upcoming 2012 inaugural season. A journeyman throughout the ranks of professional football, Fite spent a year-and-a-half as a member of the Chicago Bears special teams unit after playing for two seasons at Texas A&M-Kingsville.

In two seasons with Texas A&M-Kingsville Fite rushed for 1,608 yards and recorded 17 rushing touchdowns from 1993 to 1994. Following his time in the NFL Fite would go on to play in the Canadian Football League with the Montreal Alouettes where he became a two-way player and learned to play the defensive back position during the 1997 season. Following his time in the CFL Fite would go on to play for several arena football organizations which included the Corpus Christi Hammerheads.

With Coach Fite's great attitude, knowledge, and connections, I am positive we will be a competitive team even though the Mesquite Bandits are just getting started." stated Mesquite Bandits Team Owner David Hawkins.

Growing up in Waco, Texas Fite attended Waco High School where he became an All-American in 1990, and the Associated Press/Texas Sports Writer Association's Texas Class 5A Player of the Year in football as a senior. Fite rushed for 2,532 yards and posted 26 touchdowns for Waco High School during his senior season. Head Coach Louis Fite currently resides in McKinney, Texas.
