BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today that they have signed defensemen Josh Godfrey and Bob Raymond to one-year, two-way American Hockey League contracts.

Godfrey, 23, spent the majority of the 2010-11 season with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL where he tallied 27 points (15 goals, 12 assists) and added 24 penalty minutes in 49 games.

The 6-2, 210-pound defenseman has appeared in 22 AHL games with Chicago and Hershey, recording six points (six assists) and 23 penalty minutes.

A native of Collingwood, Ont., Godfrey played four seasons (2004-08) in the Ontario Hockey League, skating for the Guelph Storm and Sault St. Marie Greyhounds. In 209 career OHL games, Godfrey posted 133 points (49 goals, 84 assists). He also earned a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2008 IIHF World U20 Championship, which was held in the Czech Republic.

Godfrey was Washington's second-round selection, 34th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Raymond, 26, spent the 2010-11 regular season with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL where he tallied 33 points (eight goals, 25 assists) and added 68 penalty minutes in 72 games. He also registered a plus-26 rating while finishing the season ranked first among team defensemen in scoring.

The 5-11, 185-pound Raymond signed a professional try-out contract with the B-Sens on March 25, appearing in nine playoff games. He posted two points (one goal, one assist), including the game-winning goal in the B-Sens' 5-3 victory against the Portland Pirates in Game 2 of the 2011 Atlantic Division Finals.

A native of Lucknow, Ontario, Raymond played four seasons (2005-09) at the Rochester Institute of Technology, collecting 41 points (12 goals, 29 assists) in 139 career games for the Tigers.

The B-Sens will open their tenth anniversary season at home on Oct. 7 at 7:05 p.m. versus the Hershey Bears. 2011-12 full-season, half-season tickets, coupon books and other multi-game plans are on sale now.
