BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Bellingham Slam players Tyler Amaya and Jacob Stevenson combined to score 47 points in a 109-98 exhibition victory over Western Washington University on Thursday at Carver Gymnasium.

Amaya and Stevenson, along with fellow Slam players Morris Anderson and Lukas Henne, were playing against their alma mater as members of Team Another Level, a touring squad which plays pre-season games against college programs in the Pacific Northwest.

Amaya opened the game with a pair of three-pointers in the first two minutes and helped Team Another Level to a 55-49 halftime lead.

Back-to-back three-point shots from Amaya and Anderson pushed their team's lead to 12, at 63-51, early in the second half.

WWU was able to trim the deficit to two, at 4:48, on free throws from Rory Blanche, but two minutes later Team Another Level was back ahead by double digits thanks in part to layups from Amaya and Henne.

Stevenson ended the game by hitting 7-of-8 free throws down the stretch to seal the win.

Amaya finished with a game-high 28 points, while Stevenson finished with 19. Anderson contributed 11 points and seven assists while Henne had 13 points and five rebounds.

Michael Duty, Zack Henefin and Shedrick Nelson shared the Vikings' scoring lead with 17 points apiece.

In last fall's contest against WWU with Team Another Level, Amaya set a school record by scoring 44 points, the most ever in a game at Carver Gym, which was built in 1962.

The Slam will return to action in 2011 as they tip-off the International Basketball League season with their home opener on April 15 against the West Coast Hotshots.
